Welcome back to my #Pitchyagame picks for November and December (and probably September and October too). The #pitchyagame hashtag has gotten heavy traction and it’s about to roll into it’s award season. I will split this up into 2 posts since I have several I’d like to get in.

Let’s get this ball rolling with Neon Blood by ChaoticBrain Studios @chaobrainstudios. Neon Blood is a 2.5D cyberpunk JRPG featuring it’s protagonist Axel McCoin.

And let me introduce you to Axel McCoin (No I didn’t pick this game because the main character looks like me…except he still has his hair.)

Really loving the screenshots from this game with all the neon and a real cyberpunk feel.

As of now I don’t have any links for Steam or a demo or anything but if it does happen, I will let you know.

Next up is Unbound Worlds Apart by @unboundthegame. An adventure through a hand crafted Metroidvania full of portals, puzzles and monsters.

That’s a smooth trailer for the game. This game has been on Kickstarter and received grants from Epic so there’s definitely people out there who want to see this game make it to the finish line.

Check out a bit of character art from the game.

The art for this game is what elevated this in my eyes. It really caught my attention and popped off the screen.

Want to throw your support behind it? You can wishlist it on Steam and there’s even a prologue available.

Rolling onto the next project…Coffee Noir — Business Detective Game? Coffee Noir? They’re talking coffee. I’m in. Seriously though, this game by @dojigamesedtech @coffeenoirgame has several interesting parts that look like they’ll come together smoothly and make for an interesting game. Is it a visual novel? Business management? Detective game? It’s all of the above.

Want to see if they meshed all these together in a coherent way? There’s a demo available so why not go check it out on Steam.

Here’s a game that’s already out. #pitchyagame isn’t only games that are up and coming. People with games that are out can get a signal boost and possibly make connections that may not have been available before since there’s a flood of games coming out everyday.

Card Hog by @snoutup is a card based dungeon crawler and if you follow the dev on Twitter and probably other places, you can see how hard he works to update his games and keep putting out new material. This is one of the aspects of indie development that you just don’t get to see from big AAA companies.

Anyway, enough talking, here’s your look at Card Hog.

An example of getting to watch the dev work on new features.

The game is available in Early Access on Steam

Also available on itch.

…and coming soon to Android. Soon you’ll be able to get you some hog on the go.

Another game that caught my attention a while back is Across the Obelisk, a card based roguelike that hopefully doesn’t end up as brutal as Darkest Dungeons.

The trailer on this one kind of puts everything out there and leaves me with very little to comment on.

The planned release is Q1 2021 and you can wishlist the game on Steam now.

These are some of the #pitchyagame entries that caught my attention and there will be more to come.

Until next time.
